I was the lucky winner of a case of homebrewed beer at the Elk tourney. In a fit of insanity, Mooch, whom I had entrusted with my tickets, didn't claim the prize for himself. Silly man.

Molbasser and I were finally able to connect on Thanksgiving, and I am now the proud owner of a rapidly vanishing case of very prime homebrew. A sixer was nearly consumed just by my family on T-day.  Chris went all out on this IPA, and it can easily hold it's head (pun intended) with commercial IPA's. Very hoppy when first served, but with a strong chocolate malt aftertone. As the beer temperature rises, the pale malt comes through more and more as the hops and chocolate malt subside. A great brew to sip on a cold autumn night. I will be putting aside a sixer of this for consumption in a year, just as I do with the Sierra Nevada Celebration Ale. I can tell that this beer has legs, and I have no doubt that a year of aging in the fridge will open up even more possibilities.

Thank you Chris !!!

Glad you liked it.

It is definately beefy enough to cold age very well.  Unfortunately for me, my portion of that beer is LONG gone.

I really liked that recipe though and it will be brewed again.  I am brewing my ESB that everyone liked at Bendo again this weekend.

I really need to get my 10 gallon brew kettle up and running.

Brother Scott,

Out of all the NCKA'ers that were present that day, you simply picked the right guy....the guy (other then Papa Bill) that does not drink beer at all  :smt002

So I got double-lucky?  No wonder the catchin's been so-so since Elk. I used up all my good karma in one shot.
