Well sort of....They launch at Discovery Park and then fly a trillion miles a hour in their bass boats down to the delta for the real fishing. Was watching it on the computer and it was actually kind of interesting. Not the 112 guys weighing their fish part but there were some amazingly big bass caught.
Guy from San Jose caught a 12 pounder. The interesting part was the shot of the back stage area where the Ca. Fish & Wildlife people were loading the caught fish into big tank trucks..5-600 big bass going where? I'd like to know!!! :smt001

The vid of local boy Chris Zaldain catching the 12 pounder, biggest fish of the whole season, was great to see his excitement!

Seems a lot of fish are being spot fished.  I didn't think the water was clear enough for that.  They must be pretty shallow.

I got to fish with him at Clear Lake when I qualified as an amateur in the Pro/Am series.  Awesome guy in person.  He taught me that bass do not care about loud noises, he cranked the stereo on his boat and we still caught bass.  Very friendly and very willing to share knowledge.  We pulled up to a spot and he said throw your worm right there, I did as he said and pulled out a 6 pounder.
So long and thanks for all the fish!!!

Wherever those big bass are going, they won't be there very long. They will be heading straight back to the areas they were trying to spawn.

Yea, I got to play around with Skeet, Dean Rojas and Ish back in the day I wish I had an oppertunity to hang with Arron Martens. Those guys are great people also Jimmy Houston is a kick in the pants funny and never ending with jokes a real good man.
