Just looked up online Salt Point SP for a campsite for a couple days for next week. I know it was last minute; however, my wife wants to get out of Redding heat for a few days. The question is why is there so many sites available, when all the other campgrounds in the north state are full this week? Something I should know? Good place to bring a travel trailer?

Thanks! :smt004

Salt point on the Sonoma Coast is a great place to camp. Trailers work well there.  I noticed earlier in June that there were a ton of sites available too.  I'd recommend calling them to ensure that there isn't some glitch with the reservation software.

Salt point SP is a great place for a travel trailer. Are you on the ocean side or woodside?

Woodside is my absolute favorite campground. Weekdays are awesome. During the fall you can get some weekends that aren't a fricken mad house. Go enjoy it! There are some great protected fishing spots both North and South of there.

I love Salt Pt, and have taken my trailer there allot, no problem.  There always (in the last few years) seems to be open spots there.

Why?     There's allot of sites, and there's no showers, and there's allot of hiway 1 to get there,

But it never hurts to call.
