July Campsite Reservations for State Parks

I've found the way to mack the system and I want to share it with you guys.  You know why you can never get camping reservations for 4th of July, even though your calling and logging onto Reserveamerica.com at 8:00AM on the first business day in January, i.e. 7 months in advance?  For the following reason.

You can book reservations 7 months in advance.  So, starting on Friday December 1st at 0800, you should be able to book only through June right?  Well, yes.  But you also have to account for the fact that you can book for up to 10 days at a time.

So, if you book starting June 30, you can reserve dates at a campground through July 9 if you book the maximum days.  This year, July 4th is a Wednesday.  So if you want to go camping and make it a loooong weekend, what you would do is call in and book reservations arriving Sat June 30, departing Weds July 4th.

That is the only way to get a campsite for 4th of july "weekend" or any other hot dates during the summer.  If you wait until February to book a July date, you'll get screwed.

This is the policy at every California state park campsite, all of which use Reserveamerica.com as its reservations vendor.

So for that reason, if you want to reserve any campgrounds in June or through July 9th, you should call in starting this Friday December 1st at 0800.
