I'm looking to buy a Dragonfly 6, so any info or pics of your set-up would be appreciated!

FishingAddict and P-sherman have the Dragonfly 7. Wiring should be the same. I have the FF too but not installed yet.

What kind of kayak are you rigging?

Eddyline C14.

The big, flat area in front of my feet designated for a Plano box is just asking to have a big ole FF placed there.

No need for the ground wire for us kayakers.  I shrunk wrapped it to the main cable to get it out of the way.  Connected the positive and negative wires to my 12v 9a deep cycle battery.

This unit keeps on amazing me.  I used the split Chartplotter / Sonar screen last Saturday staying on top of structure and school fish.  Full limits before 11am!

Eddyline C14.

I had to use this product on my Ultra as the monstrous transducer doesn't fit into the designated spot.  It works quite well.  I can reach it by myself and deploy if after launching, and easily reach it to remove any kelp or debris that it may pick up, and stow it away prior to landing.  The drag caused by this arrangement are negligible.

I have one of those as well. Not sure if I want to go that route, though.

Good to hear that it doesn't cause much drag.

No ground connection for me either.

The only complaint I have is the long Raymarine transducer, though it still fits in the built-in xducer mount in the Hobie. It works great!

I too would think twice about putting that large of a hole into an Eddy.  Good luck what ever you wind up with.  Post updates?

CHIRP units are amazing.  Last Saturday I was fishing next to my buddy with another FF unit.  I told him I was seeing a big school 60 ft underneath us.  He couldn't tell on his his unit.

Dustin - In hull water bath works pretty good. You may have to increase your sensitivity and take it off auto setting.  On the water gives awesome results at auto.  Last time I fished Quarry Lakes there was an algae bloom.  The Dragonfly showed the algae bloom at the top 10 feet.  So I used deep diving lures that went down 15 ft. and got my fish trolling.
