Anyone run the soft kayak racks?  I'm looking for a no-drill method of transporting my yaks on top of my tent trailer and these seem like a viable option (and also handy on rental cars).  http://www.seatosummit.com.au/products/transport-and-storage/traveller-soft-racks/

I have them.  I use rental cars when I travel so I picked up a set. I'd say that they are okay but not great.  The loop-strap part doesn't seem like they allow you to get the straps very tight (for me anyways).  However I haven't had any issues the few times that I have used them.

Good info.  I figure with bow/stern lines doing most of the holding, these will function more to prevent side-to-side motion. Or, I'll just go ghetto with some carpeted 2x4's and eyebolts.

I've used something similar in a pinch, but even cheaper -- they were called pool noodles.  :smt003

Now you're going super ghetto!  I've run them before, lost one, yak went sideways but stayed on...told myself pool noodles are for flotation, not for security.
