Shelter Cove drowning

That sucks but if he lived and his son didn't he like most fathers would have a hard time dealing with it.  I will pray for the family.

Sadly, as Doug said, there have been several tragedies at Black Sands and Little Black Sands beaches over the years.  It's a steep shorebreak with a treacherous dropoff into loose rocks that you can hear churning like bowling balls in even small surf.  It's no place to fish, dive or kayak, so not many of the group at the Gimme Shelter series has done much more than briefly check it out during the event weekend over the years.  It's a pretty place to visit, but it's absolutely not ever the place to go in the water.  RIP.
