We have had McNabbs and Aussies for over 30+ years. Very smart dogs. Need attention and exercise. The hair shedding is huge so to keep up on it you should brush out daily. If not, it will end up everywhere in the house. We have a saying in our house, "everything tastes better with dog hair." Loyal dogs that read your emotions, so be nice!  :smt001

Great looking dog. Congrats! We have a mixed breed (rescue from Milo in Willits). They told us Aussie/German Shep. The Aussie is the dominant side of the mix. As said, the herders are smart dogs...ours was 1.5 yrs old when we got him and he was still very trainable. Recall still not great, but better than when we got him. Best advice I ever got was that you aren't training the dog, you are training yourself to communicate with the dog. That, along with a consistent regiment is key. Congrats and good luck!

Well after some intense training I am happy to announce that my Zoey is now a chicken hearder. She did kill one chicken in the beginning but learned right away not to hurt them again. She is an awesome dog and very good with my small dog loca and even with the new chicks that just hatched. She helped me last night rounding them up into the fenced area. Couldn't be happier with her..

Awesome dog bro!  Congrats on getting a great dog, AND getting her to work for you!  My dogs would kill all my chickens and my cat!
