With the weekend weather predicted to be in the 70's, I'm thinking of heading to Rancho Seco for some camping and kayaking.

Not sure yet what days, I'm flexible Friday through Monday if anyone else is thinking of going.

l plan to load up my camper tomorrow and camp Friday night at least.  I'll shoot you a PM, Buzz, before I leave.   Is there wifi out there?  Also, which camp spot do you recommend?

Thanks for the intel on the trout plant, bones.

General Lee, not sure if I'll stay til Sunday, but I'll post up here on Saturday if I only stay one night.

Everything is loaded up.  Except for what I forgot of course!  Guess I'll eat some lunch here before leaving and be there around 1pm or so.

Well, no camping.  Full.  Yup!  No camping spots left!

On the way home, my water pump went out just as I pulled into the driveway.  What a mess!!!  I've never seen a water pump fail to where it leaks a robust drip like that.  Antifreeze all over under the hood.

I won't be going back, tomorrow, Saturday, but maybe Sunday?  If I can get the part.

Well that bites :smt013

on the brighter side at least the pump was good enough to take a dump in the driveway instead of out on the road in the middle of nowhere

I do consider that a blessing!  I'm gonna change the serpentine belt while I'm at it.  Already got the pump out, a 10 minute job, and a new pump from Autozone for $55.  Shouldn't take me more than an hour to wrap this up in the morning, so I still may go someplace this weekend.  Just not Rancho Seco.  If the campground was full on Friday afternoon, the place will be a zoo this weekend I'm sure!

Looking at Meadow Creek launch at Lake Natomas for Saturday, tomorrow.  Just not early.
