Hello everyone. I have been reading up on kayaks and kayak fishing for a while, ready to buy and try. I visit Monterey area a lot...wife's parents have lived there since75. I have always wanted to fish the kelp beds and can't wait to tag along with someone. I live in Modesto and know the Delta pretty well. Glad to be here...hope to learn a lot.

We are what we pretend to be, so we must be careful about what we pretend to be.

I want to stay as close to the edge as I can without going over. Out on the edge you see all kinds of things you can't see from the center.

Welcome! You can always go out now for sand dabs, perch and mackerel as well as just get used to fishing/rigging a kayak.

The Mac fishing in Monterey has been great.  On lite tackle, these things are a TON of fun.  Good size ones too (15"+).  I was fishing them with bass gear & they were rippin' line!  Short paddle too  :smt002
