So I've finally got some free time to install my new FF on my Trident 13 but have been beating myself up over the transducer installation. I didn't realize how much larger the transducer would be over my old one. I've spent quite a bit of time researching online and contemplated several different locations/designs.

Personally, I would like to utilize the transducer designed scupper hole but even the 83/200 doesn't fit flush not to mention I would be clueless how to mount it.

So I'm reaching out to you guys to see if anybody else has had similar issues and if anybody has a better way to mount the transducer.

Kayak: Trident 13
FF - Lowrance Elite5 HDI
Transducer: I have both the 83/200 and 50/200 (which is much larger)

Thanks!

Teddy

I don't have a photo, but I saw a guy take his kayak's transducer scupper hole and a chunk of composite 2x6 decking.  Shaped the piece of decking to make a deeper well on the bottom of the yak by cutting a hole in the decking chunk and shaped it to flow well in water, then glued to the bottom of the yak.

Hope that makes sense....

I ended up shaving off a blades width of each side of the transducer to get mine to fit. Haven't tested it yet. Hopefully it isn't going to mess with the performance [emoji51]

Didn't take an after pic, but here is how close mine was to fitting.

Thanks for all the helpful advice.

@Jerry unfortunately the 83 doesn't fit flush and if I put the mounting piece on (eye hole) it will stick out of my scupper hole a good 3 or so inches.
