The humble PFD.... Personal flotation device... Why wear one if it's hot and water is warm and you are an olympic swimmer (or some level there about's) The reason you wear one is NOT for you... You wear it so that if you die, drown, otherwise go missing... You are not forcing others to risk their lives to recover your body. Having some person or child discover your bloated carcass. Or otherwise put others out so you can "do your thing". It is an Item of courtesy, for others, that you wear a PFD... Think about it.... Wear it always... Make it a mantra, Make it a promise... Now go play!

Before another life is lost... before another child goes without a parent... before....

I, Ron McGuire, (weimarian)  promise to wear my PFD when on or near the water so that I will be safe and able to offer assistance at any time to others on the water. So that no one will have to risk their lives to find my body.
my new name should be Ostridge. Got my head in the sand. Going fishing and letting go of the other stuff I can't control anyway!

Almost makes me want to wear mine to bed.
But seriously, I have slept in mine.......on one of those warm bait soaking afternoons when I fell asleep on my kayak.
I always wear mine.

Thanks for the reminder Ron.

I sink like a rock so I always wear a PFD. It has helped me more than once falling out of my kayak when I first got it.

Grim but wise.  I always have mine on. Lighter one for calm water/ warm days, heavier one for when its heat retention is welcome.

Could mean the difference between and open or closed casket service.  My idea of a crabfeed is me eating, not them eating.
