Arrived at the park at 6:30am and the parking lot was empty. Not a single car, truck or boat trailer. Steve-O arrived right after me. One of the locals, Mad Canoe, pulled in with his pb as we were unloading our kayaks.

Headed down to the pump and dropped anchor next to it. No other boats around. Jigged (per Danglins advice) for about an hour for nothing. Lost a jig in a snag. Pulled up the anchor and trolled down river past the bridges. The place was empty, no boats, no fish rolling...nada. :smt012

Wind picked up at 9:00 and my feet were getting cold, so I headed back. Three more pb's were at the pump as I passed by. Off the water at 10:00. It was a nice morning on the water anyway. I'm glad it's only 20 min from home.

Steve and I have been working this place..I think we're due to catch a fish. :smt002

Here's a few pics of the river:

Al, Thanks for the report i'll be heading that way again very soon. I know your best time is weekends but I think i'll try mid week. Is the bite compeletly off? The water looks as if their aren't any fish there.

Danglin, What's this about the stripers and spoons? Where in east Stockton? More info dude!!!

Talked to a friend of mine who went out with another friend for a few hours and he was blown away by the quanity and quality of the fish they caught. I'll get more info if I can, he's kind of on the tourney trail right now and hard to get ahold of. He did say that they they were " dropping spoons "and it was on fire. I am not familar with the Stockton delta area, so hard to tell where he might have been. I'll post more when I get it.......Danglin

Very few fish were rolling, but most were near the pump. I saw nothing farther down towards the bridges.
Like the pics show, not a roll ripple on the water. I think Danglins advise is good..work the pump area.

Salmon fishing is pretty dead right now. Never know though, the fish still might show up.

The turning basin had a lot of boats out today in downtown stockton. That means drifting minnows or jigging spoons for stripers. I am going to try a midweek run. I'll keep everyone posted if I hear a definate report.

Sweet pics.

My non-yak salmon chase near Verona also without results of the fish kind.

Spoon jigging stripers?  Sounds like Mildred Island, but could be a few other spots.
