Katadyn Survivor 6 or 35

I'm looking for information from anyone out there that has had any experience with either the Katadyn Survivor 6 or 35.

I dont have any experience with those desalinators. I do use their filters when backpacking and they are great. If its a survival thing, maybe look into a solar still. Those desalinators are pricey.

I'm good to go on fresh water.  Looking for ways to save on weight (water jugs) on multi-day trips on the Sea of Cortez.  Solar to slow and requires being beached.  Amazon has a range of prices depending on age of device.  Don't want to go cheap if it means buying a worn-out unit or one that needs refurbishing.
