Ron,

I was referring to Rolleze wheels for the kayak but the SB (Meritt 25) is a nice ride also but probably not much help with access at Andrew Molera.  I did respond to the post about Garapata and may join you/them depending how the weekend works out.  Saturday is ususally preferred for me because of family and household obligatinos plus work on Monday but I am really tempted since my opportunities to fish down that way are limited mainly by the lack of others to go with.  I will be checking the board for details.

Thanks for cheering up - It is nice from your guys on this board.

I have done both Garrapata and Andrew Molera (Pt Sur). Here are my observations. Buddy system should work for both places. Garrapata is 15 miles less of driving than Andrew Molera for most of us from the bay area. Kayak wheels are handy, please bring it with you, even though you may think it will not be used. I have it all the time. Many times it has helped. Also have a rope in your yak. It helped me a big time in one of outings.  This Sat seems a little rough, Sunday looks better, but not ideal. From my experience, Garrapata seems less windy than Pt Sur.

I'll be out of town in next 2 weeks. Otherwise I am in game. I would definitely ping your guys if you are interested in going down these places. For me, I enjoy superior scenary, fishery and new exploration to "virgin" areas, however, at expnese of more exercise, extra effort and good planning. Let us hook up before the season ends.

Thanks.

Is that the ocean or a lake in background.  Great catch.

Jason - the background is Big Sur River Mouth leading to Molera cove. The cove is the other side of the sand beach on the background. If the condition is right (small swells), the cove is as calm as the river. Of course, not always.

YOU ARE COOL, not only did you go for it @ Garrapata, now you did the same out there.  I'm sure that place is insane.  I believe there's many places between Piedras & Garrapata that hold a similar fotune-a lot of places that aren't normally thought of or easy to get to but as you've proved, oh so worth it!!!
