Came here for work, and have some free time finally.  Don't need to do any fishing as I don't have any gear but interested in checking out any fishing that may be going on and check out the local catches.

Anyone have any suggestions on where to go look?

Just a guess... NWKA? :smt044

You should try fishing charters for Winter blackmouths or Steelheads. I am pretty sure you can rent gear.

Pikes place is cool to check out if you have the time. Lots of local catches. If you're are feeling like eating a burger check out Redmill Burgers. SOOOO good

I know how much you love salmon fishing. Here you go: http://www.fishingseattle.com/page5.html. But I would go after Winter Steelheads if I were you. You will not catch those down here.

If you want to bring your own rods, I got a rod case you can borrow.

I was going to recommend getting the best ever Cuban sandwich at Paseo in Fremont but I went to get the address and it's closed?!?  Ugh.

I like sitting at the fish ladder window at the Ballard locks, just watching the salmon and steelhead go by.

Sounds mesmerizing. I could probably watch that for hours without getting bored.

When I worked up there for a few months used to go down and hang out on SW Spokane St. bridge, crosses Duwamish Waterway between Seattle and Harbor Island, underneath West Seattle bridge, if season is open might combat fishing there but you can see what they are catching, talk with the locals, occasionally would see some kayakers in there.

Go out to the Ballard Locks, then over to Rays Boat House to have drinks and appetizers. Sit on the deck and watch the sunset. You won't be disappointed.

For something different this time of year....check out the crowds jigging for squid after dark off the local piers...downtown, Shilshole, Edmonds, Des Moines.
