Monterey to Big Sur, Ca PB

I've fished down in Big Sur quite a few times and I'm always amazed by the beauty of it all. I really want to show my family the central coast but I'm not too familiar with the area after Point Pinos.

I'm aware there are a few MPA's (Carmel Pinnacles, Point Lobos, Asilomar etc.) along the coast that we have to avoid. I was thinking about finding any spots after Point Lobos and before Point Sur MPA. Any pointers for a newbie wanting to take the PB down there? Estimated travel time, dangerous wash rocks, etc?

PM Alan Tani if you are talking boat fishing. He boat fishes Pt sur. There is structure almost continuously from lobos to pt sur.The PB's hit the garapata /rocky point area pretty hard. Probably doesn't fish much better than SWS or Pinos.
