Do you even have that yak anymore Mike?!  :smt044

I have done well in my NRS Grizzly wet suit with some rain pants over them.  The rain pants help keep you warm and cut out any wind.  I pretend they are Kokatat Temptest pants  :smt044  But it works well!

Awesome pics of Almanor - I'm planning to be up there for X-mas, was thinking of bringing the kayak with me - water levels looked pretty low over the summer to be fishing from shore. Am REALLY hoping for snow!!

The lake is lower than it was this summer, but PG&E stopped pumping water from Almanor to Butt Lake for the rest of the year so levels should remain stable through the winter.  I hope it snows too!  This area was dry as a bone last Christmas.

You should bring the kayak.  I'll probably be around for Christmas, maybe we can hook up.  Guarantee we'll have the lake to ourselves, the place is abandoned in December.

Some good advice here. I think they covered it. Basically dress like you plan to get dunked because if you under prepare and go for a swim...well you just never know.
