Hello, I am a native Californian and long-time trout fisherman who took up kayak fishing this year. I caught half a dozen keeper striped bass in San Pablo Bay, but now that the bass are up the delta am looking to get on the rocks and hook into some rock cod. Also, may try for some halibut over here near San Rafael where I live.
I have a flexible schedule and lots of free time in the winter (beekeeper, so only work 2-3days/week in winter). Weekdays are best.
I am up for anywhere in the North Bay (as far as Bodega Bay to under GG bridge).
I am fishing a Tarpon 120 sit on top, hand paddled, with no fish finder yet...
I can teach you how to safely collect edible mushrooms if you show me the ways of the rock and ling cod!

We are what we pretend to be, so we must be careful about what we pretend to be.

I want to stay as close to the edge as I can without going over. Out on the edge you see all kinds of things you can't see from the center.

People aren’t supposed to look back. I’m certainly not going to do it anymore.”

Hi Steven
I am in San Rafael too. Sure always looking to go out for lings BUT Striper action is off the hook right now, the best and they are everywhere. Pickleweed, rat rock, Brickyard, Marin Islands, brothers, china camp...Big fun. I might be going to Ft Ross or TC on Sunday if you are interested.
Best
Ray

Welcome :smt006. I too fish from a Tarpon and it's taken me to a lot of places. I know a few good spots from the Golden Gate to Bonita Point.
