I'll definitely head up there tomorrow, but expect to assess conditions when I arrive. If it's not looking good, then discretion is the better part of valor, right?  If you're not comfortable with timing a surf launch, perhaps BH tomorrow is not for you?

Swell predictions sometimes keep us at home on glorious days. I'm willing to take a chance on the drive up, and I'll keep my fingers crossed.

There are lots of places to fish, and lots of days to do so...

Hey, thanks for the warning.  I don't remember actually doing a surf entry whereby if you fall 'aligators' will likely devour you...  But I'm sure very interested to see how this BH looks like...

PS>  I should have given my other friend a 'disclaimer' like this before we did that 10' wave entry at Big River (Mendocino) last year...  I did told him not to put his fins on while kayaking especially on 10-knot headwind and trying to clear the waves...  In short, he was pissed as hell at me for not being able to come to his rescue right away.  heck, he was only 20 yards away from the shore in 'rolling' white wash while I was 'behind' the mega waves and could not possibly just come back for him... (he was rescued by me and a surfer later)..  that was a day to be reckoned with...but nothing close to 'alligator' infested water like B.H.  So now I am having a second thought of this....

>>>>>since it's already 1 a.m. and I have NOT loaded up the gear yet (my wife & 10-year-old son gave me the 'guilt' feeling of not watching home movie with them)....  I don't think I'll be in shape for the 8' swell...timing the waves is not my concern, it's getting sick all the time in 6'+ swells...  So I pass on this one... there will be another day..  good luck to you Paul!
