Hey Guys,

Anyone ever fished or camped at Berryessa?  What was your impression and where did you stay?

Thanks,

I've heard very much the same thing... I figured I'd ask since it's near the end of the "yahoo" season... certainly don't want my two little girls around thugs and such.

I'm with you guys on this one.  Berryessa is only 30 mins away from me, but i avoid it like the plague.  Way to many PB's and jet skis.  The times i have gone out i usually stick to capel cove, it's a protected inlet with a free launch and lots of bass just beggin to get caught.  This lake will be changing a bunch in the next year or so due to a new ruling that is getting rid of the trailer parks and trying to make the lake more appealing to weekend warriors.  I think they need to fix the roads in before they try to make the lake a travel destination. As far as camping, i've camped at Spanish flats before, should be calming down by this time of the year.  Let us know how it goes :smt001

I've camped @ a huge campground on the damm side, "somthing meadows" I believe, It was back ina cove, oh that's it" Paradise Cove", It was pretty cool, It was mid-week, absolutly no one was there, and I was right on the shore.

It was protected by a 5 mph zone so it blocked most of the PB's.

I threw small crankbaits, ultralight style and had action all day long, have to work some plastics a little deeper to get some size...I was thinking on tring it out again soon or even the little lake on putah creek....Danglin

The "lake" on putah creek is actually Lake Solano.  We've pulled some nice 2-3lb trout out of there with yellow rostertails and kastmasters, and there's a camp site right there on the lake...best thing is no pb's allowed, and they stock it pretty often so you are just about guarantied to at least get a few stockies. Either way good luck.
