After going back and forth about which new Hobie I was going to add to my arsenal for 2015, it came down to the Pro Angler 14. It's definitely a gigantic kayak, but there are some advantages to that. The new H-Rails are awesome and the addition of the skeg helps out tremendously. So on to the build:

First on the agenda was to add a second steering handle to the boat. Having the ability to steer from either side of the kayak while fishing is a must.:

Next up is the fish finder. I have the Elite-4x HDI and it has worked flawlessly, but it was time to step it up. I installed the Elite-5 CHIRP on the PA14 and this thing is awesome. I ended up drilling another thru-hull fitting for the extra HDI/CHIRP wires to help with keeping everything waterproof.

The last major upgrade was a Power Pole Micro. I've never used one before so It should be interesting to see how this thing works around the areas i mainly fish. The install was fairly straight forward with the Hobie install kit. I did have to drill one thru-hull fitting for the power wire and install the controller and quick release in the front next to the seat.

Next it was time for some juice! I have installed 2 separate batteries, one for the finder and one for the power pole. It makes it a wee bit heavy in the front but i figured I wont have to worry about charging anything while on trips away from power. I mounted both batteries on the sailing mast inside the front hatch. I was a little worried about the bucket hitting them but it barely squeaks by.

I'll be adding things here and there so I will be updating this thread as the additions are installed.

Impressive. I look forward to your further updates.
Are you pondering what I’m pondering?

My back hurts all ready.  :smt002
Nice rig, looking forward to seeing it in action this weekend!  Really curious to put the CHIRP and my HDI side-by-side too.

Really beenfishin, a winking smiley face? I feel the love

Added a little something to the kayak today:

The Hobie H-Crate is awesome! The 4 lashing points to the kayak seem really secure and it has the H-Rail around the top to attach all of the accessories. It also has 4 rod holders built into the corners of the crate with rod keepers.

Didn't you just get a Hobie tandem also ? did you win the lotto or something ?  :smt003, looks awesome ( but heavy )
BTW, where do you plan to use the power pole ? just curious ?, there's a couple of us launching at Centimudi Sat. am if you want to show it off....
Remember to practice safe knots, because big fish don't just break your line, they also break your heart.

Just be cautious of the test results.  You can/may encounter "cross talk" if you are on same freq.  Not a certain but a possibility.  Overcome by turning one on 'Standby' at a time.
