My girlfriend and I took the yaks to Del Valle on Sunday to just get some paddle time in. The ranger said that the prior week the res had been stocked with 750 pounds of 3-5pound trout. I saw a few boats taking fish but the wind was whipping so we did not stay long.

Del Valle is a great place to just get out and paddle for me since I live in Livermore. Now I just need to get a hook in a fish or two so I can officially become a yak fisherman!! :smt003

I got lucky on my Newb-voyage.I read "How to paddle for Trout" by:MOOCH  from the opening page "NCKA", no fishfinder yet and hooked my biggest trout ever(looks like a Cutbow to me) I WAS PUMPED!

"Confidence and Dedication is my motto" (that's korney B.S.) stick with it and it will Pay-Off
