Remnants of a N/NW pulse and windy.  The launch was makeable, the landing would have been dicey...  Went home and watched football.

I was out there with my two young daughters yesterday...we ended up just playing on the beach instead of taking the yak out.

"some days ya just gotta sit on the beach and drink beer"

My Dad and I left the Eel River Valley on a flat calm day in October many years ago, and when we arrived at Cape Mendocino it was totally blown out!  A forecast of "variable winds to 5 knots" would not apply that day to the farthest western point in the continental US.  We sat on the beach and had a couple beers apiece, and the most bizarre thing was that the east wind that was fueling heavy offshore sheep was also carrying inland air down onto us - it was 93 degrees right at water's edge!  Crazy!!

Glad you made a good judgment about going out, stuarts.   :smt001
