Had a blast getting out on the water for the first time on a kayak.

The ocean was calm as could be. Light fog was out the whole time, and only cleared up with some nice sunshine on as we were coming in to land.

Pulled in a few blacks and blues, a copper, and then this Verm decided to tango.

Maks had epic conditions and a damn near epic bite for his first trip out on the big blue.

We launched and headed straight out to 130 feet and started instantly picking up a nice assortment of decent sized rockies. Unfortunately most of mine were canaries, including a ~5lber. Luckily, I was able to send all but one of them back down. I'm pretty sure I saw close to two dozen canaries CnR'ed throughout the day.

I also pulled a very nice blue, a couple of decent blacks, and a copper out of the deep hole before we had all had enough of the canaries and moved in closer to Pedotti. It was such a lake out there that some even paddled through the reef to the other side. In close to the reef I pulled up a 22" verm and a couple of lings. Towards the afternoon the bite died down just a bit, but I had a feeling it was gonna take off again after reading Otobe's report from the previous day. Most of us headed North and started slaying lings. I picked up 5 or 6 good ones and another 22" verm before calling it a day at nearly 3:00PM. As I paddled in Cam, Marcos, and Marcos' Uncle (sorry forgot name) paddled up and startin' bangin' fish left and right.

'Twas another beautiful day on the Sonoma Coast!
