Back from Eagle Lake had a great time weather was good, 30 in the morning and close to 70 in the afternoon. My son and I put some time on the water 9 hours on Saturday and 7 on Sunday. We hooked up 8 times but only boated 4 for the two days. It was about even lures and worms, it was real slow fishing but had a great time it was are first time caching fish in are kayaks, what a thrill that was.

Will be heading out there this Nov. What were you using for lures and bait? Nice fish and concrats on a first Kayak fishing trip and no skunk. Way To Go.One of my favorite places up there is Butte Lake where we usually base camp and also fish the Hat Creek area upper and lower. Welcome to the board.

Looks like you had some nice weather out there.  I have been on eagle lake when it was freezing and that wind picks up.. its over!  :smt002    I flyfished that lake with woolly buggers which basically imitate a leach since there are tons of them in there.  Some huge and beautiful trout come out of eagle lake.   just dont go there on the opener! :smt005

Nice fish, it's always a relief to get those first fish in the yak!  Looks like you were in the Pelican Point area, how deep were you fishing?

To Frankfishing
We trolled for the two days, the lure that got the must strikes where the Sure Catch Red Dog large and the Kop Car (black and white) needle fish, I was using a 3/8 bullet sinker to get it down. We also catch some on the worn (nightcrawlers), one way was with a Seps Dodger the Midnight one with about 14” leader, the outer was with a fly rod with 10 foot of LC 13 ledcore line with the worm trolling slooooow was also getting some strikes. Hope this helps you may also want to check out the web site eaglelakefishing.info/ for an up dated fishing and weather report. I have no doubt you will have a great time we did.

To Ben
We caught are fish at the Youth Camp and the south side of Pelican Point. If I had to guess on the depth I would guess we where fishing about 15 feet deep or so, we do not have depth finders yet.
