I plan on fishing the Feather River on Friday morning 10-13.  I will launch at Beer Can Beach and fish the hole in front of the beach.  The main target will be salmon but I may take some live minnows to try for stripers if the salmon are not biting.  Company welcome.

Travis, where do you get the live minnows in this area?  We are in El Dorado Hills and have no idea where to get llive bait.

I buy mine at Elkhorn Bait and Tackle in Rio Linda.  I do not know of a good bait shop around your area though.  I would ask Tote, I bet he knows.

No good bait shops that I know of up here. I usually stop by Broadway Bait and Tackle as I drive through Sacto on my way to the river.

Thanks for the info guys.  Is it legal to transport live bait from one area to another.  I read somewhere that the state has regulations regarding this.  Being from Africa - I  am desperately trying to catch up on fishing regs here in California.

Hey Sayak~
Send me a PM. I am in Placerville, right up the hill from you. I am thinking we could save a ton of gas on fishing trips to the coast and such.
Do you dive at all?????

I am still on for tomorrow morning.  I have good feeling that I will be putting fish on the table.  I got some inside info from someone with experience catching salmon on the feather.

Ha! I wish it was that easy. Might be walking out the door for the last time.
I was working a few miles from the Feather and was done with my meeting around 11:30am.
If I had known, I would have taken my kayak with me. Oh, well....
