I have been here for 10 days in WG.  No one has reported a catch that is reliable.  The locals are barely trying! I think Ricky is right it is going to have to cool down so they stick around here longer and give us a better chance to piss them off.  With that said I am going to give it a PB try later this PM on the incoming tide.

Sac River Knights Landing and Freeport.
AR fish are throughout but small numbers.
Nice size pod up at sailor all I've seen were shiny new fish.

Like Ricci said wait till October for the AR. Hit Knights Landing right now. Big chromers being pulled outa there daily.

Many nice 10-15 lb fish being caught the last few days at Barge Hole, most hadn't started turning color, one nice 30 lb salmon last night, turning brown but meat was still fresh, no hook.

Understand there are some 40 lb fish around now, expecting 60 -70 lb fish in the next 30 days.

Flows are low 7400 cfs

Through the Sac area its been pretty slow, I've been out several times already this years and haven't seen anybody hooking up or landing anything. I fished for about 4-1/2 hours early Saturday morning and its the same story with all the boaters I talked to with no action trolling, jigging, or on anchor this year.

Water temps have been very warm with the river feeling more like bath tub water and the salmon that are coming up are shooting right through. At this point it more of being in the right place when they are shooting through vs. technique. Hopefully the next few weeks the outcome will change as outdoor temps should start to decrease.

Heres a pic of right now from KL..there was a few more boats earlier but I didnt see any stringers. Yes, there is some current here. Ill be doing some after work trips here in sac area in the tin can until they really push thru and come in..2 more weeks and it will be ON!

I like fishing the Sac as late as possible in the season, for some reason I've always caught bright fish at that time....

Yesterday only know of 2 fish caught early in morning out on the main of the lower sac. I got a 22# around noon. On Tuesday my buddy got a 22# hen that was long and slim. But she had perfect roe for sturgeon.

We landed three salmon above Chico on the sac about two weeks ago. Wrapped K16 caught nothing we only caught them dragging roe, 1/2 oz wt. on a slider with a float. The water was filled with junk, grass, algae etc. the bite was far and few between and to catch three took all day. I am more in fear of what next year brings. I believe if you want to get a Salmon this year will be better then the next. But I hope I am wrong.

I fished the Sac up above Red Bluff today for trout, but did see plenty of salmon jumping/working their way up river. There were about 20 fish carcasses at cleaning station this morning so some are being caught.

Flow out of Shasta Lake is now 6280 cfs. I actually pedaled/paddled a couple miles upriver today against the current, lots of places fishable from yak that haven't been in the past do to low water flows. River up here is very good for kayaking right now.

Fun to catch the trout, smaller fish, wild, bouncing a nightcrawler
