Has anyone ever try making their own  Neodymium-Iron-Boride magnet bracelet to deter sharks ?

Funny you asked.  Just last night I saw a PBS thing about rare earth metals and it acting like shark kryptonite.  From what I saw in the documentary the sharks had to be really close for the metal to have any effect.  I think you would have to have a lot surrounding you to have some kind if "shield".  The documentary did show hooks made out of the metal and that would be useful for commercial fishermen not targeting sharks. Might work if you can find the metal spooled and wrap it around your yak

Yeah they have to be really close, I was just thinking of putting some magnets on a shaft maybe around the gaff as a precaution. For those moments a shark swims and circles by and thinking of putting a bite in the kayak . No harm no foul. That's all.
