Better late than never, right?  :smt001
The summer has totally blown by and I have barely had a chance to get on the water, let alone edit/compile all my GoPro footage.  Managed to put together some Trinidad action from many moons ago, re-living that trip sure stoked the fire to get back on the salt.  Typical day at Trinidad, nice mix of chunky blacks and the standard pack of 24-30" lings.  If any of you guys are considering the run for Rockfish Wars I highly recommend it!  The place is awesome!

I'm in Trinidad right now by the pier.  Do you fish south of the pier?  How far west?

Piscis - most of that video was well west of the Head in 60 to 80 feet of water it appeared - about a mile to a mile and a half paddle from the launch.

Nice video, Ben.   :smt001

Nothing gets by you guys!  :smt002  That's a ceremonial brew on the water, save the IPA's for back at the beach.  :smt001

Picis, just as Eric mentioned that vid was around the head and north a mile or so.  We started inside, east of Flat Iron for a steady pick and circled around to catch the drift back into the harbor.

Remember to practice safe knots, because big fish don't just break your line, they also break your heart.

I was out there last weekend for the first time. Caught a nice grade of blacks and one 28 " lingcod. Was taking baby steps because i was with my wife in a tandem. I 'm thinking of entering the rockfish wars... but I have no team... its a 2 man team event right?

Correct, if you sign up they will hook you up with someone if you don't have a team.

Yep, 2 man teams, but for the most part smaller groups tend to form on the water.  It's a great event, hope to see you there!
