Hey all:  :smt006

My name is Quinn and I new to this board and new to Kayak fishing. I just bought a yak a few months ago (Wilderness Tarpon 130T). My 11 year old son and I love fishing. We have been spearfishing for 1 year and just started out kayak ocean fishing. Have been out a few times and really want to learn and get better. I live in Folsom, so want to learn about the American River, Sacramento River, and the Delta as well.

My boy wants a Salmon more than anything. We have taken down a few lings and lots of perch and rockfish. Just need to get better and improve our skills.

I am a member on Spearboard (love spearfishing), a member of the Monterey Tritons, and now branching off to Kayak fishing.

Hello to all and yes, I will be the dummy asking lots of questions over the year....

-Quinn

We are what we pretend to be, so we must be careful about what we pretend to be.

I want to stay as close to the edge as I can without going over. Out on the edge you see all kinds of things you can't see from the center.

Totally agree. I used to do a fair amount of free diving, but that was before kids and a real job. Getting back into the sport with my son. We are on season one as well. Looking forward to some good viz this fall/winter....

Hit me up if you are ever wanting to go out. I am in Folsom, but get to Monterey/Carmel about 1x a month...I am just sticking near shore and working 15-20 feet with short breath holds for now :)
