RIP Dwayne Usher.

My dear friend Ariel was in the car when this happened. They had just started dating, and now two young people have lost their father forever. Just absolutely heart-wrenching stuff. Please make sure your trailers are secured properly and your maintenance is up to date.

--------------------------

A 32-year-old Vallejo man has been identified as the victim of a freak accident on Lakeville Highway on Friday evening, when a large brick pizza oven towed by a catering van broke loose and slammed into his car.

Dwayne Usher was driving a Honda and waiting to turn onto the highway south of Petaluma when his car was struck by the trailer carrying the pizza oven.

The impact caused Usher’s Honda Accord to overturn, killing him and injuring three passengers.

Good advice.  Once had my kayak trailer come off the ball when crossing railroad tracks.  Thankfully my safety chains held, coupled with my slow speed allowed for a safe damage free stop.  I had neglected to ensure the coupler was down all the way.  Shame on me.

sorry, i watched that on the news a couple of days ago, i did not know he was from Vallejo.
That is why I am so anal when towing the travel trailer, I like to take my time except the time on my way to Shelter Cove, good reminder not to drive like an ass.

sorry to here about this devastating accident.
Unfortunatly it takes an accident like this to remind everyone not to be in a hurry to get somewhere .
Check and double check when you tow. And like said before keep your shit maintenanced.
That's a sketchy part of road  anyways. I'm always alert on that stretch.

Sincerely,
Tim
