Size of anchor?

I've always used the anchor that Ocean Kayak sells and it works fine.  I believe it is a 1 or 1.5lb anchor.  I have six inches of chain so it lays down properly.  Keep in mind that anchor weight is just part of the equation.  An anchor is designed to dig into the bottom so don't get too caught up with weight alone.  If you want a no brainer size go with a 3 lb. 

If you want some good Crab Pot Floats.  Take some Mag or Super Mag Duck Decoys and paint them up as seagulls.  The crabs stealer's will think they are just birds resting on the Ocean.  Unless they get too close and then the "gig is up".

Sorry for the really late reply, just found this post. 

   While in a K-mart a while back, I got a 5lb "danforth" style really cheap ($10) I replaced the 1.5lb folding anchor that came with my outback, and the 5lb'er holds so much better!  Kind of looks cool also.  The little 1.5lb'er sometimes wouldn't hook up, or would drag a while before grabbing.  Not this new anchor.
