Started fishing at 7:30am.  Overcast but no rain.  Got spit on a couple of times.  Seas were 5 fts. every 9 secs.  No wind.  Started at the big rock in between the harbor & first green bucket.   Got a lot of small hits.  Moved to the second green can (northside).  Got 2 rocks and a 15" cabbie.  Let the cabbie go to grow up.

I some how broke my pole tip on some seaweed snag.  Broke after the second eye.  I was bummed out.

I decide to keep on fishing.  Next hit was a 20" cabbie (4.2 lbs) and then on the next drop got a 30" (9 lbs) ling.  High was at 10am.  However, the drift & bite stopped at 9:30am.  Stopped fishing at 10am.

Cabbies are easy to tell. They have feathers on above the eyes and have "NO TEETH" like a ling.  And when you get a ling, it fights harder than a Cabbie.  Unless it is a small ling compared to cabbie.  Also, if you are  into eating eggs.  Do not eat the Cabbie eggs they will make you sick.

Hi Jmainey,

Maybe in Dec. I could be wrong, but they always plant Stevens Creek before Lex.  If you want some trout, I would go to Del Valle, Shadow Cliffs or Quarry Lakes.
