Pic on my Outback.  Scotty Flushmount installed just behind the beer holder in the cargo well, keeps it nice and tight to the hull minimizing stress.  Easy to reach, but still out-of-the-way enough to keep an open deck.

Do you have a backing plate underneath that?  If so, was it difficult to reach in and install?

No backing plate needed, I run a 3lb weight and it's rock solid.  However, one could easily be added, I was able to tighten up the mounting hardware on the Scotty by reaching through the center hatch.

Thanks for the feedback.

Only 3 pound balls?  You must troll pretty slow or else I'd imagine you get pretty good blowback.

Freshwater for kokes primarily, 1.5mph, up to 65' deep.  I would imagine the salt guys running bigger gear/bigger dodgers would need bigger balls.  Literally.  :smt003

I think three is too light in salt.  4 lbs seems to do the trick, even going against the current.

Jae,
But I like your fishing style better. You're always on top of a hot bite or the day after a hot bite. Soooo wish I could join you every time.

Going Fishing?
Winds from the south, hook in
    the mouth.
Wind from the east, bite the least.
Wind from the north, further off.
Wind from the west, bite the
    best.
