Checked the forecast and webcam after class today and saw a break in the wind so I drove out to bodega bay to see if I could find any salmon around the head.  Launched from Doran around 2 pm and the winds pushed me off the water around 6.  Trolled from the whistle buoy(north?) to the gong buoy(south?0) in about 90 FOW and tried my bait 50-80 FOW.  Was using a green/chartreuse bait clip with tray anchovie 4 ft behind a flasher and a 2 lb ball on a release clip.  No fish, no scratched baits, nada.  Surface temp was 51-53 degrees, visibility 15-20 ft.  Didn't see any marine activity or any other boaters fishing nearby.  Probably would have had a better chance first thing this morning around hi tide/low light but schedule wouldn't allow.  Lots of brown jellies in the water that were fouling up my setup.  Don't think that it is quite that time, but hopefully soon they will show in big numbers just outside of the bay.  Just trying to get lucky, but no love.  Drifted anchovies on the bottom trolled the beach and drifted the jetty-seal rock for halibut 5-6, nada as well.

Thanks for the report!

15-20 foot vis is not ideal for salmon. I think that likely played a part.
