I had an unintentional yard sale.  Among the debri is a floating shimano rod that I will  really miss. 

But feeling alive and happy to still be here! It was a close one.  Probably wont share with the wife or I will never get otw again.

Did you take a shortcut through there? I always paddle away from that area

Not intentionally.  I need to look into those charts for my FF.

What happened?

sucks losing a favorite rod, hope you didn't get hurt on the reef.  saw a PB tow a yak into the harbor.  were you with the group that launched at the old pier?

Glad you are OK. You were fishing north of most people and the drift was north to south so most of your stuff drifted away from the fleet. We came in after you and didn't see any floating tackle. Consider it a gift to the sea as we all have made. In this case, a reasonable exchange for your life. Post up your story in the safety section when you have recovered. You are going to get some heat from members but hopefully it will prevent others getting in a similar situation.
