Went to Lake Hennessy with ScubaLuis to look for the Crappies.  Water level was low and they just put chemical to kill off the algies (and maybe the fish too)  :smt003  Trolling the whole reservoir for nada.  Luis got a nice Trout and that's it.  Glad I got some over due water therapy!

After we got back, we're told by a local fisherman that the Crappies are hanging out at the dam.  The spawn should happen any day now.

Danke Sonny!  It's good to see Luis finally get on the water and catch a KW qualifier.

A Vallejo man who reportedly couldn’t swim most likely drowned at Lake Hennessey early Sunday morning, according to the Napa County Sheriff’s Office.

Capt. Steve Blower said Monday that the man was fishing with two friends near Sage Canyon Road at Chiles Pope Valley Road. At about 5 a.m., Blower said one of the men awoke to hear his friend thrashing and trying to stay afloat in the water. He jumped up to help, but also could not swim, said Blower.

The friend located another friend asleep in their vehicle a ways back from the water’s edge. The two men raced to the lake, but could no longer see the man above the water, deputies said. The fishermen called 911 to report that their companion had possibly drowned.

Authorities recovered the man’s body later Sunday morning and were working Monday to contact the man’s family before releasing his name. According to the initial investigation, the drowning did not appear suspicious. Blower said that drugs and alcohol also did not seem to be a factor.

The Napa County Coroner’s Office will conduct an autopsy Monday afternoon or Tuesday morning, said Blower.
