I guess it would be nice if I could walk around my kayak.  Can't really see any other need for it.  All my equipment is attached to my kayak so no need to worry about stuff moving.

It's primarily for standing on your kayak, helps with comfort.  Also helps to deaden sound.

Plus, like I said to a guy in another thread about kayak color:
I'm an Olive/Sand/Tan type of guy. Never seen much use for bright colored kayaks.  Visibility can be increased, but being awesome/cool looking can't, bro.

That being said I'm planning to go with the gray color.  The Army camo color is a little too dbaggy for me.

Hydrospider has done a number of his yaks in some non-skid deck product, not sure if it is this same stuff tho.
It does look cool, and would probably cut noise if that is an issue in quiet waters.
