Soooo happy to have a little time to get on my home grounds (today that means SWN). Decided to make it a casual morning, stopped for breakfast and coffee. Arrived at 7:00ish to a full parking lot, gray skies and generally good conditions. Launched at 7:30 landed at noon. The bite was steady, fished mostly the B2-Squid but did OK on the Assault diamond jig and Big Hammer swimbaits too. Full limits of rockfish and lingcod was the order of the day. The lingcod were definitely on the chew today, probably released six in the 22"-24" range and another 8 or so undersize. Got a nice Olive rockfish and a pretty good China too. The rest were Olives and Blacks from 14"-16", released maybe 10 more in the 12"-14" range. Biggest Ling was about 10 lbs. (a chunky 27"er). All in all a pretty decent day

Looks like an awesome day!

I love chinas. Cool patterns and always chunky. Taste great too.

China's are old fish.

Max length is 18" at 79 years old. Matures at 3 year old at 10". I usually let them all go, not much meat anyways.

I kept one yesterday too, usually let them go, but at the time, for two hours of fishing, I only had a black on my clip, and Cody had a black and a gopher. Knowing how that kid eats, I knew I needed to save everything I could at that point. Fishing picked up after lunch when the tide rolled in, but our limit consisted of mostly gophers.......my fingers are payig the price today, prickly little guys. Wish I was a cove or two south, sounds like the fishing was a little better.

Nice work Ruben.

You should venture up to anchor bay next weekend and fish with me for a day.

At 14" that makes it ten years younger than me  :smt003

I need some of your mojo.  I was there yesterday too, a little later in the day, and only caught 2 black rf, and one was too small to keep.  Congrats on your limit.
