I went on some sort of a shopping spree last month. Purchased some stuff that don't really fit my needs. These are purchased new and unused just one month ago. I prefer cash Paypal, but cash upfront is fine too. (If Paypal, please don't use credit and send as Gift, so I don't get hit with a fee.)

First up, Shimano Sustain 4000. I bought both the 4000 and 5000. I never knew that the 5000 is basically the same reel as the 4000 with a bigger spool. I don't need two 4000 size reels, so I'm selling the 4000. I paid $270 for the reel on eBay, plus I bought an extra spool for $60. Selling both the reel and extra spool for $250. (Free shipping or arrange for pickup.)

Next up, Fenwick Elite Tech Salmon/Steelhead rod. 9'6" Light Action spinning Drift rod, aka Center-Pin, or Float rod. I'm a fan of Fenwick rods. I bought four rods in this series together from light to heavy. Why they put a Center-Pin type handle on the light action and not on the others is beyond me. Their catalog shows it has a regular handle, but the one I received has a Center-pin type handle. The place I bought it from showed the regular handle only. I could send it back, but shipping a rod is not cheap for non-commercial customers. I'll try to sell it, but if no one is interested, I guess I'll learn to use a Center-pin rod. If you don't know what's a Center-pin rod, I guess this rod is not for you. It's a specialized rod for float fishing on rivers. This rod is light and feels really good in the hand, very much like a 5wt fly rod. Too bad it's got the Center-pin handle. Selling at $40. Arrange for pickup only.

Thanks for looking,
ernest

Tempted   :smt007   But my wife said I have way too many rods and reels (many of them still unused!).  These should go fast.

That rod is pretty sweet. Would land some shad in my hands..... Also tempted. And that's a fair price!

Sonny, you should seek help for your addiction. When you find a good doctor, refer me to him  :smt003

Yes sir. I bet you'll catch shad with any rod. I'm slightly tempted to learn to use a center-pin rod, but that would mean I need to invest more to buy a center-pin reel. I probably would if I lived a little closer to the river. Hoping to come up and fish for shad after GS.

hm... I could understand people not showing interest in the rod, but the Sustain? Is my asking price too high? It's $80 less than what I paid last month. It's brand spanking new. Perhaps there are problems with that Shimano model that I don't know about? Educate me please.

Items will be retracted if not sold by Monday 5/12.

Thanks!

The Sustain is a great reel. I have a pair of Stradic 5000fj which are awesome but not like your Sustain.

I would buy it.its a great reel at a great price but at the moment im pinching pennys so hard theres dents on Lincoln's head.the 4000 sustain is a great all around reel stripers to Rockies to lmb to salmon the list goes on.plus and extra spool one for braid the other for mono "bonus"im shock sailfish didn't snatch this up
My biggest worry is that my wife(when I'm dead)will sell my fishing gear for what I said I paid for it

Place an ad in CL. I sold my Calcutta TE 400 there. It took me 3 weeks and I dealt with few low ballers.  Meet prospective buyers in public places, I like meeting at In and Out Burger in Union City cause its close to the freeway.  Tell them you will only communicate if they give their phone number.
My buyer drove all the way from Stockton to buy my reel.  He looked at it for 3 seconds and handed me the payment. Just wait out the right buyer.
