Howdy,

anyone have advice for a quality easy up that will not break with in the first year…  easy to use, compact and light?

I need one for HOW quickly and it's going to get a lot of use...

Go with the original

they are spendy, but quality.  I've had no issues with mine for 6-7 years now.

I got the heavy duty one from costco a few years back and am very happy with its durability.

I like the REI Alcove. It's much lighter and packs down MUCH smaller than an Easy-up, but still handles whatever you throw at it. I've had one for probably 8 years now and it's still rockin'. It's been through sun, rain, snow, wind, camping trips, music festivals, drunken debauchery, etc, etc, etc...

We also have the removable wall add-on, which is nice.

I bought a 10x10 EZ-up brand at Sam's club. Includes all the side walls and travel case. $199.

Held up well at Crab fest.

I have used this one for years when I was doing event photography and it has held up well. Several other tents at the event were destroyed while this one stood strong.

But it's not light weight.

get a version with the vented roof crown as they do much better in the wind. They don't fill up, yank out the ground stakes,  and blow away.

We've got the same, and beat the thing to death in Tahoe. Its basically up and down everyday all summer.

I can't remember when I got mine, but it was a Costco purchase.  Maybe 10+ years back?  it's either 8X8 or 10X10 (Thinking on the smaller side) EZup.  It's heavy as sin, and can be set up by me alone, however 2 people is much quicker.  It's held up extremely well, over the years.  Go with the original if you want it to last.
