beetle identification

Anyone know the name of this beetle? 

My first guess is that it is some type of Click Beetle - not sure of species.  I'll see if I can find out more from a buddy at work who is a bark beetle expert.

It looks like Ringo to me.

How did it taste?

Ran it by some forest entomologist friends of mine - they think it is a type of Staphylinid beetle - big family of scavenger beetles.  Hope that helps.

I posted on bug guide and got this as a suggestion.  It looks alot like it.  Now I just gotta read up on how to kill'em.
