Great set-up! You can still put a bike rack on a front tow hitch too. I may have to build my own head ache-roof rack.

Found out my little Ranger's towing capacity is only about 1500 lbs. Most pop ups are 1500-2k lbs. it seems and they are just more than we need. I don't like to carry more than I really need. Now My wife and I are talking about putting a camper shell on the truck, building a bed box platform with drawers underneath to sleep on. Then we'd set my 3 rail motorcycle trailer up with decking, a 2 kayak rack with space for a gear locker, some kind of custom camp kitchen with a 20-40 gallon water tank with sink, a 3-4 burner stove, coffee maker and maybe an oven. I work on motorcycles as a hobby/side job so I'd want it all to be modular so I could still install a rail and transport bike(s). I am not a wood worker lol, I expect whatever we come up with to look rough but be functional. When we get ready to start I may make a thread.

The small egg shell campers like the Scamp, Casitas and Escapes are nice. The wife and I have been looking around for one.

I come across these on my travels and without exception the owners are towing them with small cars and happy with their trailers and have no problems with towing them. Most were using small station wagons or SUV's.

Easiest way to find what you want is to know in advance which makes and models will work for you and then search for the trailers by name on www.searchtempest.com and with Google search. Searchtempest will scan all the craigslist posts for a given item within a selected price range and distance from your house. I will set a minimum price that eliminates most of the distressed items for sale.

The smallest Coleman/Fleetwood tent trailers weigh right around or less than 1k.  I used to tow one with a Jeep CJ7, also towed the small tent trailer with a Dodge Caravan.
