50 is a little on the large size for Kayaking fishing, a 30 or a 250 would be great.  THey are well made reels.

So do I, that was my go to for light tackle shallow water rockfishing in the 200-400' range. The 4 and 6/0 came out anything deeper with +2lb jigs and cannonballs. The game has changed a bit.  :)

Great yellowtail and albacore reel for 20#-30#.  I have a pristine one with upgraded drag.  Yes, on the heavy side for shallow water rockfish jigging, but I never used it for this application until a few years ago.  Would make a great sturgie stopper for someone.
