pretty sure that's the one he got - deep rubber mesh.
He won a medium clear rubber net, trout, kokes, LL salmon.
Well that makes sense.  My mistake. I've never seen the deep rubber yet.

shallow one is perfect for freshwater, easy to catch, measure and release fish with minimal handling.

Shallow is also perfect for having the fish flop right back out of the net.  I, personally, hate shallow nets.  Want to release a fish?  Don't use a net.

Next time we hit freshwater together, you can take a look at mine.

I never have problems with floppage because I close my nets on the fish.  I see a lot of improper fish netting and it drives me crazy - close the net on the fish and don't lift the fish into the boat with the handle extended perpendicular!  That's a great way to break a net in half.

When I net a fish I want to CPR, I net fish, drop the hawg trough in water to wet it, put the fish on the trough, take picture and put the fish back in the water with minimal handling.   That's the best way to handle the fish since his weight is fully supported by the net when lifting out of water and putting back in.

The net he won is not shallow, it's actually perfect for trout, kokes, ect. I have one and I've used it several times and never had any "flop outs".  :smt044
