OMG.... the fish in there are beautiful!   on the water @ 6:45,  and the bite was goin off till the sun came over the bluff.  Then just one more about 11am,  it was just a little 24in cut. :smt007

the big dumbass mistake I made was to let my flyrod slip thru the scupper in my stern while I was setting off....broke off the ferrel about 4" up :smt011 :smt010....oh well the 3 I got on the spinin rig was a worthy day.

A big congratulations on your score there. I fished Heenan only once, in a float tube and fly rod on a SJ Flycaster Fishout on the East Carson. I was soundly skunked-the East Carson was nice to me (my best was a 6 1/2 pound Alpers Rainbow C&R) but Heenan just laughed at me and spanked me. Oh the pain  :smt009 Those Lahontans are big and beautiful even if they are not the best fighters for their size. Well done. Perhaps one day I'll go back there and risk shame once again :smt012

It is a unique and wonderful experience to fish barbless C&R for the Cal DFG broodstock Lahontan Cutthroats. Those fish were once thick as thieves in the Tahoe Basin untill the 49ers ate them to near extinction. They used to catch them to 20-30-40 pounds in Lake Tahoe. So you had a bit of history on your line. What a great accomplishment.
