When I ordered Cabela's 12-volt rechargable batter, I did not pay attention to its charger. Now I have the battery arrived w/o a charger.   It was a silly mistake on my part. :smt009

I digged out some old chargers and found the closest one with output of 12-volt 650 mA DC. Cabela's 12 volt charger provides output of 12-volt 500 mA DC. They are close, but, not same.

My Question for experts  - is it OK to use one that provides output of 12-volt 650 mA DC instead? Thanks.

Should not be a problem.

Does the one you plan to use have auto shut off?  Overcharging is not good for those batteries.

Hey Allen - thanks for the tip. I called Cabela's and got the following reply. It can be used, but would reduce the battery life if overcharged. So the suggestion is to charge less than 4 hours, normally 8 hours, to maximize the battery life - something good to know. BTW - this battery does not have auto shut-off valve.

Depends on how far discharged it is.
