Anyone care to fish Don Pedro or Pinecrest on Monday? I'll be in the area for a writer's conference hosted by Tuolumne County. Was thinking about Beardsley, but I hear the road is closed for fire rehab.

Even if you can't join in, please drop me a line if you can share any advice on the best bets for kayak fishing in Tuolumne County. I always try to get a web or magazine story out of these trips.

Thanks!

Paul

Pinecrest is probably low, but you'd have lots of fun as that lake is usually full of trout.  Quantity but not much quality.  Find the inlet and find a high concentration of fish.

Haven't heard anything on Pedro pinecrest just opened the marina last sat. I haven't heard any fishing reports yet. Beardsley is doable the road is open. Water isn't on the ramp, but as someone reported last week you can drive to the waters edge and launch. The fish are covered in copepods.

Thanks for the intel. I believe the trout opener is this weekend. Still mulling over the options.

The opener is this weekend. Most of the steams are all fished out by late afternoon. Not sure where your gonna be there's a little stream a couple miles out of Sonora that you could prob get a few planters out of if you like. If your looking to yak melones Is another close option the bass have been doing well as have some big cats. Pm me if you need details. Wish I could join you but gotta work.
