Those bonefish flies look very similar.
I'll post tomorrow what some we use look like. Too tired now. Just got home from the Travis Air Show. Bad day.

Damn. You made me google it, I could see the smoke from my house. Knew that wasn't part of the show.... Should have turned my radio on and listened to what was going on.

Thanks a lot for the detailed info Matt! It is just amazing that for any type of fishing, there are always some deep experts on this forum.

I never tried fly fishing before and there are so many new things for me, so I think I will stick with spinning rod for now. At Verona, people just hang two grubs on 1/32 jig heads on a leader with a 1-2 oz weight at the bottom, let the weight hit the bottom and tighten the line, will this work at American river, or should I use a bobber instead?

I am trying really hard to move my meetings away from next Friday and am not sure if I can do it. If I can, I will definitely join you guys on the hookup.

Thanks again!

I really want to learn the ropes from the experts, and finally managed to move the last scheduled work meeting out of Friday 5/9 just now. I was so excited to join the hookup, but cannot post in the hookup thread since it is locked. Are we still on for the Friday shad trip? If yes, could you tell a little bit more on the launching site, like parking/ramp/...? Thanks a lot.
